UG: Electronics and Communication - B.N.M Institute of Technology, Bangalore (Under VTU, Belgaum).
79% (Within top 10 in my class) - Zero backlogs
GRE: 320 (Q: 165, V: 155, AWA: 4)
TOEFL: 105/120 (R: 29, L: 28, S: 23, W: 25)
Interested Department: Electrical and Electronics with specialisation in Signal Processing (more inclined towards audio signal processing)
Initial considered list of universities:
1. University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign
2. University of Maryland, College Park
3. North Carolina State University
4. University of Southern California
5. Georgia Institute of Technology
6. University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
7. Northeastern University
8. University of Florida
Experience: 3 years (3.5 years by Fall 2017)
Position: Senior Engineer - System software design and development.
Company: Sasken Communication Technologies, Pune
I am currently working in embedded linux automotive multimedia sector, and have experience in:
1. ALSA framework.
2. Audio signal processing components like sample rate conversion algorithm in assembly, mixer and downmixer components.
3. I also have experience in Video rendering on ARM setup.
4. Have been a key part of performance analysis and optimisation of audio/video synchronisation algorithms as per Blu-Ray specification requirements.
5. Currently part of team maintaining device drivers used in complete multimedia play path.
6. I am working on a whitepaper on my very own feedback system designed for self correcting audio/video synchronising module.
7. Have been awarded Top performer award for years 2014, 2015, and an onsite opportunity in Japan for 3 months.
Final Year Project: “Active Array Antenna Element Failure Pattern Analysis and Synthesis using Genetic Algorithm”
A simulative project programmed in MATLAB.
If the elements in an antenna array get flawed, the pattern generated can have major deviations from the actual pattern of the antenna array. However, the pattern can be synthesized to make the antenna work as a non-failure antenna by processing the pattern generated with the application of Genetic algorithm, thus enabling the use of this project to applied as a software patch in real-time during a varied application scope.
The project is accomplished at Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE) DRDO.
Pre-Final Year Project: “Electronic Stethoscope”
A project for digitalizing the unique process of analyzing heart beat sounds, and transporting the sound via a loudspeaker, and/or computer to be studied by a remote physician/doctor or at a later time. Our project received second prize in intra college competition for the focus on portability, and low frequency band focused approach as required in the context of a stethoscope use case.
Could you please evaluate my profile in categories of ambitious, moderate and safe.
