Hi,
I have got two admits for CS.
1. RIT MS in CS with 20% scholarship.
I have been alloted 3 bridge courses and hence I will need to complete 39 credits to complete the degree. The tuition fee will be around 56k(37lakhs) including the 20% scholarship.
The course work here is good and they have co-op opportunities(not sure will get one or not considering the current scenario). Also RIT has a good reputation for CS as i got to know from some seniors.
2. U Cincinnati M Engg in CS with 11k scholarship
The tuition fee here is 29k minus 11k scholarship i.e just 18k of tuition fee.Since this is a 1 year course I will have to pay just 13 lakhs to complete the degree.
The course work here is not that good.I like only their data science track but I am not sure that every one gets it.Last year only a few students got the DS track.
I have 3 years experience in Java development in Amdocs.I feel if I join U Cin and since the M Engg course completes in a year I can apply for jobs on basis of the experience,I will save tuition fees and get working early.
On the order side i think it might be hard to prepare for the internships and jobs since i need to complete 4 subjects in a semester at U Cinn.
For RIT, the CS course is almost 2 and half years. Here i will spend a lot on tuition fees but the course work will e good and I can take the courses I like.If i manage to get a co-op it will help me a big deal in the fees, but not sure that I will get it.Since the course is 2 and half years I will get time to prepare for the interviews and internship opportunities. Also my friend in RIT told me that since RIT has a good reputation I will get calls from most of the big companies and it will depend on me to convert this opportunity.
I am confused between Finances and Coursework and job opportunities in terms of Universities. Can you please guide me in selecting the same?
Also i have an admit in ASU MS in SE, but i don't want to go for SE.
Thanks,
Gourang
