Ms in cs for a guy from non-cs background

Hello,
This is my first post so please excuse any mistakes.
Well I am from Production Engineering background.
I am currently working in a software company.I plan to apply in fall 2018 for MS in CS.

I heard that people have to complete some pre-requisites when they shift from non cs background.
Please tell me how can I complete these pre-requisites.
Will doing some projects suffice?Please elaborate.
