FALL 2017
College: NIST, Berhampur, Odisha
Univ: BPUT, Rourkela, Odisha
Graduation year : 2016
GPA: 8.4 /10 (No backlogs)
Stream: ECE
GRE ( giving on 29 Sept 2016): Expecting 320+
IELTS (giving on Sept 15) : Expecting 7-7.5
Looking for MS in US
Stream: Electrical Engineering
Specialization: VLSI Devices/ Solid State Electronics (Interested for research)
Internship:
1. Research Internship at J.C. Bose Institute, Kolkata
Papers:
1. International Conference Paper (ICNT- 2015 at Haldia, WB)
Research Projects:
1. Study of Advanced Non-volatile Memory Devices
2. MoS2 based graphene structures and Raman spectrometry
3. Nanocrystals based Flash Memory
4. RRAM device study and analysis
Tools known: Cadence Virtuoso, MATLAB, COMSOL, Xilinx ISE, NI LabVIEW, Origin, OrCAD, pSPICE
I am currently continuing in my research in this field, i.e. advanced memory devices and nanoelectronics, but I am not sure if I can publish a journal paper within the time of application, so how can I modulate that into the SOP.
I have done some decent amount of research on univs and have come up with a list which I think is relevant to my research area ( I primarily looked into profs, research areas, current work)
So, the most relevant (and practical) I found were:
1. Arizona State Univ
2. Univ of Rochester
3. Univ of Utah
4. Rice Univ
5. Univ of Maryland, CP
6. Michigan State Univ
7. Univ of Southern California
Now the one's which are equally relevant but I think are damn ambi:
1. Univ of Michigan Ann Arbor
2. Univ of Texas at Austin
3. Cornell
4. Purdue
5. Virginia Tech
So kindly review these and classify into safe/mod/ambi
And if anyone can give me more info on Univ of Massachussets, Amherst, Univ of Florida and Washington State Univ and their EE program and my chances of getting into it.
And last but definitely not the least, some SOP tips (I know I have to sell myself to the course)
Thanks a lot in advance
