Relevant Projects:

ii. Design of a controller for nanopositioning in state-space.
Working with a professor from University of Aberdeen and one prof from my university. Unlikely to get an LOR from Aberdeen as the work has only just started.
Extracurriculars
Organized an Inter - MUN in the college.
Attended five MUNs during college.
Won 1st place in an international workshop on robotics.
Won few quizzes in the college.
A few questions:
1. My Q score (164) equals 87 percentile. Do I even have a chance for the top 10? I understand that the overall profile is scrutinized. So taking that into consideration, do I have a chance as most of their average scores are 165+?
2. Certain universitires like UMich Ann Arbor say they require 4.5 in AWA. Is it practical to apply for such universities?
3. Lastly, I had missed one of my mid-terms in second semester because of chicken pox. This led to a huge fall in my grades in that semester. Can I explain this in the SOP as my GPA would have been quite high if that hadn't happened?
I hope to I've managed to present my profile the best way possible. If anything else is required to reccomend colleges or answer those question, feel free to do so any time.
