Requesting for Profile Evaluation:
GRE - 319 (Q:166, V:153); awa - 4
toefl - taken on 21 oct.
CGPA -8.86
work exp - none
Want to pursue MS in Embedded systems.
Industrial Training:
Completed one week summer training in telecom at RAJIV GANDHI MEMORIAL TELECOM TRAINING CENTRE, CHENNAI (A UNIT OF BSNL).
Internship:
Completed two months internship from a startup company that manufactures wearables for health monitoring.I worked on developing an algorithm to determine the heart rate variability from the PPG wave in May 2017.
Projects:
1. HEART ATTACK DETECTION WALKING STICK
Designed a walking stick which will continuously monitor the patient’s ECG wave and will detect a heart attack immediately based on the abnormalities in the ECG signal of the patient. This project was displayed in the International Technical event KURUKSHTRA’17. It was also telecasted in the SIGARAM THODU show of Vasanth TV and the episode is also available on Youtube.
2. PROPELLER CLOCK DISPLAY
A strip of LEDs is rotated using a high rpm motor. The LEDs are switched on and off in a proper sequence and timing to create a clock display using the concept of persistence of vision (POV). The coding is done in Arduino and the current time is obtained using RTC (Real Time Clock).
3. MORPHING IN MATLAB
In this project, a sequence of images (my childhood photos to current photo) were morphed and a video of the morphing process was created. The entire coding was done in MATLAB.
4. LINE FOLLOWER
Constructed an automatic robot which traverses along the black line on a white background using IR sensors and Arduino.
5. CUBE LIFTER BOT
Constructed a robot with a simple mechanical arm which lifts cubes and places them at a height of 10cm.
6. SMART HELMET
Currently working on this project. In this project, the bike can only be switched on if the helmet is worn, else the bike cannot be started. In case of an accident, messages are immediately sent to the emergency contacts using GSM.
Participations:
1. Participated in Robotics event in Vision’14, the symposium of ECE dept. of CEG.
2. Participated in the Virtual Reality Workshop conducted by Samsung in CEG.
3. Organized the Two States digital electronics event in Vision’17, the symposium of ECE dept. of CEG.
4. Participated in the seven day special camp organized by Youth Red Cross.
Extra-Curricular Activities:
1. Volunteer at an NGO to teach robotics for the underprivileged kids in a government school.
2. Vice President of the ECE association in college for the year 2017-2018.
3. Member of the HR team, Contents team & Projects team of Kurukshetra’17, Technical Fest of CEG.
4. Completed the German Foreign Language course in college.
5. Certified Grade 1 player in Keyboard.
I have made a list of universities as follows:
Ambitious:
1.UCB
2.UCLA
3.UT Austin
4.Michigan Ann Arbor
5.University of Maryland, College Park
Moderate:
1.Georgia Tech
2.UCSD
3.Purdue University
4.TAMU

Safe:
1.ASU
2.UC Boulder
3.University of California, Irvine
4.UT Dallas
5.Oregon State University
6.North Carolina State University
7.University of Massachusttes Amherst
Is my categorization correct for my profile?
Could you please suggest the best 3 universities for embedded systems in each category and also recommmend any other good universities for my profile?
All suggestions would be highly valued.
Thanks in advance for the help![Smile Smile]()
