Hi everyone,

I am in the process of shortlisting universities for entry in Fall 2018.
I am currently looking at Applied Economics, although I would prefer applying for a Masters in Development Economics. I am unable to find too many Development Economics graduate programs in the US, and none which are STEM designated. Any help with choosing the relevant universities would be appreciated.

My Profile:

Undergraduate CGPA: 9.11 (This is the highest GPA in the BBA program; Received the gold medal)
Undergraduate major: Finance
Undergraduate minor: Economics
Institution: Foundation for Liberal and Management Education (FLAME Class of 2014)
GRE: 332; Verbal: 164; Quant: 168; AWA: 4.5
TOEFL: 113

Intended course: MSc in Development Economics (preferably STEM)

Shortlisted universities:

1. UC Santa Cruz: MSc in Applied Economics and Finance
2. California Lutheran University: MS in Quantitative Economics
3. Yeshiva University: MS in Quantitative Economics
4. Boston College: MS in Applied Economics
5. Drexel University: MS in Economics

I had also considered UC Berkeley's Masters in Development Practice, but I will not be able to apply to this school as they don't accept my transcript format which comes in the form of a 3 year BBA plus a 1 year Diploma in Liberal Arts.

Work Experience:

Aug 2014- December 2015: BNP Paribas GSO (Middle Office Investment banking operations)
December 2015- Present: JMN Investments Research (Equity Research Analyst)

Kindly help rate my shortlisted universities and suggest other programs for Development Economics.

Query: Will I be able to apply for a program in Development Economics despite not having any experience in the field? I have been doing some volunteer work, but not related to economic development or research work.

Thank you,
Vaishnavi
