I am Aravind, currently pursuing my UG in Electronics and Electrical Engineering(7th semester). I want to do my master's in Data Science or Computer Science with a specialization in Data Science.
My profile is as follows:
CGPA : 7.73
Toppers CGPA : 9
GRE : 321(Quants - 163, Verbal - 158, AWA - 3.5)
Toefl: Yet to give but expecting above 100.
Projects: 1 Related to Big Data Analysis and another programming project.
Internship: 1 (One month internship in big data analysis)
I understand that changing the stream is difficult, but please help me out in shortlisting universities that would be suitable for my profile and also have decent internship or job opportunities.
I have shortlisted to some universities please categorize which one are safe, moderate and ambitious. Also, please suggest universities which have a good reputation in data science/ data analysis/statistics that suit my profile and are not a part of this list
My list:
1. Northeastern University - DS
2. Suny Buffalo - CS
3. ASU - CS
4. Rutgers New Brunswick - DS
5. Cornell University - Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Applied Statistics
6. University of San Francisco - DS
7. Univerisity of Washinghton- Seattle : DS program
8. SJSU - SE program
9. UTD - CS
10. University of Virginia- DS
Also, Northeastern has a special program called ALIGN MS in CS which is intended for students from a non cs background. It is a 3 year MS in CS program due to the co-ops. Due to the extra credits, the tuition fee for the whole program is $67,700 which is costly. I just have one question, is northeastern worth the money? because I have heard they have excellent Co-ops and Career Services.
Please feel free to suggest universities that I need to add and which universities I need to trim from my list.
