Hello All,

I have completed my engineering in Instrumentation and Control field. I am 2014 passout. Currently, I am working at Cognizant Technology Solutions for last 33 months. This year, I had applied for MS-MIS and MS-BA program and after that received admits from 6 universities, 1 reject, 1 waitlist, and 1 no response.

My profile:
GRE- 313 (Quant-170/Verbal-143/AWA-3.5)
TOEFL- 98 (L-25/W-27/R-24/S-22)
Under graduation marks - CGPA 9.12/10.0 (WES- 3.95/4.00)
Cognizant Experience in Data Warehousing Technology

Admits:
1) Northeastern University (MIS)
2) University of Illinois Chicago (MIS)
3) Oklahoma State University Stillwater (BA)
4) University of Texas at Dallas (BA) with 50% scholarship
5) Santa Clara University (MIS) with $2000 scholarship
6) University of South Florida (BAIS)

Waitlist:
1) University of Maryland College Park (MIS)

No Response:
1) San Diego State University (MIS)

Reject:
1) University of Cincinnati (MIS)

I have done some research on each university and below is what I think right now (Please correct me if I am wrong):

1) NEU:
* Very good university (Reputation is good) and also situated in Boston which is a college town
* Location is awesome in terms of Job opportunities
* Core technical curriculum(No management courses at all)
* Very expensive
* Option of Co-op which is an added benefit
* It will cost me around 45-50 lakhs including living and all (not sure)
* Batch strength = around 300-350

2)UIC:
* Very good university (Reputation is good)
* Location is great in terms of Job opportunities
* Very expensive
* Curriculum is good(50-50 Techno-management)
* It will cost me around 50 lakhs including living and all (not sure) as I have received 4 extra prerequisites
* Batch strength = around 300

3) OSU:
* BA curriculum is awesome for analytics (Industry based)(SAS certification)
* Cheap tuition fees and living cost
* Director Dr. Chakraborty is very helpful and takes care of everything
* Location is not at all good
* Part-time/Internship/Final Job--good result
* It will cost me around 15 lakhs including living and all (not sure) considering I will get assistantship
* Batch strength = 40

4) UTD:
* Location is not good, but not that bad
* Crowded with Indians
* Scholarship is an advantage
* BA curriculum is good
* It will cost me around 20-25 lakhs including living and all (not sure)
* Batch strength = 200-250

5) UMCP:
* Location is very good
* Curriculum is good
* University rank is in top 10
* In short everything is good
* It will cost me around 45-50 lakhs including living and all (not sure)
* Batch strength = don't know

I am not considering rest of the universities like USF, SCU, SDSU because I think, I have better options than these universities. (Please correct if I am wrong)

My main concern is that OSU with all good points (except location) will cost me say around 15-20 lakhs, UTD around 20-25 lakhs, and other very good universities like NEU/UIC will cost me around 50 lakhs. There is a major difference of 30-35 lakhs. I know I will be able repay my loan(whatever the amount will be) after my graduation, but considering the current scenario in the USA, what should I do/prefer? what should be done ideally? I am very confused and seek help from all of you. Please guide me.

I need your opinion and also guidance in finalizing on any one of the above top 5 universities. UMCP admit is yet to be received, but at least could you please help me with rest 4 universities? If I get admit from UMCP, then I should choose UMCP, right? Also, please let me know what you all think about these universities.

Awaiting your response.

Thanks and Regards,
