I am applying for computational science related courses for fall 2017 in German universities. I graduated in 2016 ( Mechanical ). I didn't join a core job which I got through campus placements and decided to prepare for GATE 2017. I am expecting a good score. But would this year gap prove to be a major disadvantage when the universities review my application. Apart from that, I have 2 really good projects in CFD and I am very much strong in programming and I have couple of programming related projects too. Total 3 month internships ( includes shop floor trainings and FEA related internships ) and academic score of 1.7 in German Scale. Also during this period I managed to do 2 more really good projects on CFD and currently I am doing 4 courses related to advanced programming and simulations through edX and Coursera.
How much does the gap after Bachelor would affect my chances. How does the universities look into such things ?
Already applied- TU Munich, TU Braunschweig.
Going to apply - Ruhr University, FAU Erlangen, Rostock, TU Freiburg, Wuppertal University
