NCSU vs. Iowa State vs. CU Boulder (Controls EE)

Hi,

I plan to pursue a specialization in Controls with applications in renewable energy ( Power Grid integration, Wind/Solar controllers).

Which would be a preferred university of the three in terms of controls as a specialization?

* Iowa State (PSERC affiliated)
* NCSU (FREEDM Systems Center)
* CU Boulder (Controls in Wind, NREL Golden CO is close by)


I'm also looking at TA/RAship availability and perspective of finding a Ph.D supervisor in the same university.
