1 year 3 months long at Indian Space Research Organization, Bangalore. It is based on design, optimization, fabrication and evaluation of MEMS Inclinometers and Gyroscopes for Space applications.
1)Studied MEMS sensors and actuators and Physics of the sensors
2)Learnt MEMS fabrication techniques and gained Clean room experience (Class 100).
3) Designed and fabricated many sensors
4) Carried out various experimental analyses and suggested changes in the design
5) Simulated the sensors using Finite Element Analyses
Published Two conference papers on MEMS Inclinometers.

I have tried to apply for RA at UCB last year, so the prof. rejected but replied asking me to apply for MS program. Don't know how much it makes a difference.
I have question regrading application, Should I be applying to Mechanical department or EE department as MEMS is interdisciplinary.
Please, help in narrowing down the list to 10 universities and also categorize them. I would be extremely grateful if you could suggest some other safe universities with good MEMS research.
