computer architecture

Hi everyone,
I recently completed my engineering bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication and is interested in pursuing masters degree.

The topic that I am interested in, is digital circuit design - mainly the architectural design of micro-processors, micro-controllers, other digital controller ICs. From my limited reading what I understood is the field that I should be concentrating on is "Computer Architecture". Is this the field that I should do my masters in?

Also what all comes under computer architecture - topics, applications.

Any input would be of great help.
