I had applied for grade transcripts from WBUT (presently MAKAUT) in August. However, at that time, I was not aware that most of the top grad schools have ceased to accept hard copy of official transcripts at the time of application, and a scanned copy suffices in most cases. So, I had paid for a lot of extra copies, assuming that I have to send them to every school. Since I was not too ready with the final shortlist of universities, I have left those fields blank in the form WBUT provided. I have heard that while collecting the sealed envelopes, WBUT people will make us write the names and addresses of the schools where we intend to send them. This is problematic for me, since I do not need to send most of the copies now, and simply want to keep them for future use.
Strangely, other universities enforce no such rules. I have already obtained the transcripts from IITK, and they have simply send them in sealed envelopes. Does not wbut allow us to take it in the same way, without having to mention the names of specific schools? Someone with a recent experience of collecting transcripts from WBUT kindly clarify.
